Halstatt makes direct private equity investments, primarily focused on leveraged buyouts of businesses with more than $5 million in annual cash flow. We also commit capital to a limited number of managers with whom we have trusted relationships. Halstatt enjoys a very close relationship with Trent Capital Partners, a Naples, Florida-based firm with a strong track record of buying and building manufacturing and distribution businesses. Trent has created a unique model that aligns its incentives with investors and encourages long-term value creation.
Katherine “Katie” Sproul is CEO of Halstatt and a Principal of Halstatt Real Estate Partners. In addition to overseeing all operations, her past projects have included Grey Oaks and LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort. Previously, Katie was also co-President of Barron Collier Companies. Katie is a graduate of Cornell University and earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She has over 17 years of real estate experience and principal investment experience. She is Past Chair of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Collier Foundation, Junior Achievement Hall of Fame and a Board Member of Audubon of Florida.
Pat George is Chief Investment Officer of Halstatt and involved in all areas of the firm’s investment activities. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, he was a partner at Florida Gulfshore Capital and involved as an investor and entrepreneur in various high growth companies. He brings to the firm a diverse background in portfolio management, private equity, growth capital, venture financing and real estate. Pat holds an undergraduate degree, with honors, from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He moved to Naples from Boston in 2002 with his wife and two kids.
Ray Desrocher has 20 years of financial markets and operating experience and has led Trent in all of its investment activity since forming the firm in 2010. Previously, Mr. Desrocher spent eight years as a partner in two middle market private equity firms, executing over 35 acquisitions on behalf of the firms and corporate clients. Mr. Desrocher’s operating experience includes senior management roles at a global enterprise software provider, as well as strategic development and European manufacturing oversight for an industrial products startup. Mr. Desrocher began his career underwriting tax-exempt debt securities at Hopper Soliday & Co., Inc., now RBC. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
